A few steps from the sky, looking out over the valley and hidden among the mountain rocks, the Bezzecca trench holds the silence of a decisive battle. It is 21 July 1866: Garibaldi's troops clash with the Austrian army in one of the most intense moments of the Third War of Independence.
Today that place still breathes history. The VR footage recreates the waiting, the tension, the courage. Every corner of the trench comes back to life in the immersive narration, among landscapes that take your breath away and a memory that endures.
In the beating heart of the village, Storo's town hall square tells a living chapter of the Risorgimento. This is where people gathered, caught between wonder and apprehension, to watch Garibaldi's men pass through.
The VR footage restores the authenticity of the buildings, the voices of the community, the anticipation that filled the air. The narration follows the rhythm of a square that became a crossroads of men, ideas and battles, revealing Storo's strategic role in the military campaign of 1866.
Along the streets of the old centre, the ancient fountains quietly tell stories of meetings, halts and departures. Once a place of refreshment for local people and for Garibaldi's men on the march, today they hold the memory of everyday life in a time of upheaval.
In the virtual reality footage, the flowing water becomes a symbol of relief and continuity: a simple gesture joining past and present in a single current.
Among paths wrapped in woodland and silences suspended in green, the Ledro Valley receives the footsteps of Garibaldi's men and the thoughts of their commander. Here the narration slows, turns intimate, and weaves itself into nature.
The setting becomes both refuge and stage, the frame of a powerful beauty, where every view heightens memory and every breath restores the deeper meaning of History.
Set among the rocks of the Chiese Valley, the Palvico waterfall opens the first images of the experience, as the troops make their way through wild woods and silent omens.
The roar of the falling water becomes rhythm and symbol: the pulse of History, the unstoppable force of those who cross it with courage. A place where powerful nature and living memory meet.
Wearing the headset is generally well tolerated. In rare cases, particularly sensitive people may feel slight nausea or dizziness in the first few moments. The effect is temporary and harmless, and passes quickly once you have adjusted.
The Virtual Reality film can be seen only at the Mediateca dei Popoli venue, by booking. To take part, go to the “Book your visit” section of the site, give the date of your visit and send your request: you will receive a confirmation by email and can get ready for an immersive journey into the heart of the Risorgimento, where 360° images, authentic landscapes and historical accounts come together in a unique experience.
